Great Wall Of.... North America...

Imagine.....

You've just secured your country by putting up a massive
shield of security around it, it took you roughly 270 years
to put the pieces all together....

Now it's finished.

Your people kick back, the government likewise, and relaxe,
You are safe from the invading hords.... or are you?
but in a short period of time you are invaded anyway.

What gives?!?

How did they do it? Whoa! lots o' cash to the men who watch
the entrance ways! They bought out the gate keepers!!!

Far fetched?

The story above happened, it was the great wall of China.
The Chinese Emporers eventually placed a lot of
stock in building a wall accross the country to protect
it. (Actually, "The Wall" is a collection of walls built
over a longer time and joined together)

In the 100 years following the "completion" of the wall they
were invaded, simply by bribing the gate keepers.

Fast forward .... 2006 responsibility for some of the gates to
the U.S. is about to be sold over to a country with a hole
between "The Gate Keepers" and "The Gate crashers".
The hole has gates and keepers as well at the moment, and
that is SOME protection, but for how long?

Think about China and the Great wall folks.

Should responsibility for essential infrastructure EVER be
controlled from OUTSIDE the country??

Imagine the consequences of action such as this....

Right Steps

A Step In The Right Direction.......

A Baby Step.

But a step none-the-less:

Supreme Court

The Government is in a minority, so they can't necessarily make
big changes all at once, but even though this is a small step, it's a
good one.

O.K. What's the next baby step going to be? After all, like they say
Rome wasn't built in a day, so it's going to take some time to fix
what the Libs and their NDP pals broke/screwed up.

UPDATE Feb 21 - 9:47
Here's another perspective on the Supreme court nomination process:

Hypocritical Press

Anyone else notice?

The screaming hypocrisy of the main media outlets?

CNN
Says: "Out of Respect" They wont show the cartoons. (Look Near The
Bottom of the article)

CNN Now posts This:

"More
grisly photographs and videos have emerged"

What was that about
respect in an earlier story?

(Doesn't seem to apply when it's a soldier
in your own army.)

How about The Washington Post:

"Australian TV Network Airs More Abu Ghraib Photos"

Interestingly enough, most of the media outlets who have jumped
all over this puppy have no problem with either posting the
pics/videos for all to see. Or Links to them.

Surprisingly, our own very liberal and biased Great White Northern
media outlets haven't jumped on this yet; Shrug; it will probably
happen soon enough, that CBC isn't all oever this really surprises
me, but then, who knows what will turn up on the evening
"News" shows, ala 60 minutes?

Time for the News media who aren't supporting the rights of
Jyllands-Posten (and others) to admit they have a double standard:

Repeat after me:

We completely Support
Freedom of speech
Fine Print:

.....as long as it's ours...

We don't care about you or yours, no, really.

And to those who are using
this incident to explode
anger against the west here's a few tips:

Unpleasant as it may be sometimes, freedom of speech carries
some costs with it, including having your faith stomped on.
If you want the public to know that what was said about you
is/was untrue, then you educate them. You have to prove it
untrue;

Which means:

  • You don't burn down their businesses

  • kidnap and behead their relatives.

  • Or fly jets loaded with innocents into skyscrapers

  • you also don't Blow up marines

  • shoot aid workers there to help you

  • or raid Christian neighborhoods in Lebanon by the well organized bus load

That only loses you support dollars.

And then where are you?

Think about it.

(The answer is not, contrary to what your Imams tell you "Further
ahead")

UPDATE: O.K. I was too quick on the draw:

CBC is now falling in line, which means it will probably apear
on the national or sooner or later (or one of the other "News"
programs as they like to call them, which is an excuse for
hatchet jobs on those who don't lean their way.)

Hello? Where'd The Blogger go? ;-)

September 2005?

O.K. I guess I have been a little lax in posting, not a good start to blogging...

If I ever want the traffic of Michelle Malkin or Captains Quarters blog, I'll
have to do better than this. ;-)

Well, we have new government here in The Great White North.
Unfortunately, only a minority, this presents some issues.

For starters, the government will have to kiis opposition a** in order
to get anything done, and since the party which holds the balance of
power is a left leaning party with dreams of a socialist dictatorship
(the NDP) - accomplishing change in the house of commons will be
difficult if not impossible.

My wish list:

1) Supreme court - currently appointed by the Prime Minsiter, no one
else has a say. I would like to see the house have the final say...
PM nominates a candidate, who then MUST BE VETTED by the
house.

2) Senate - reform this joke. Make it elected. Elected by the people of
Canada the way it should be. Currently, it is the same as the Supreme
Court - political friends of the PM usually wind up in the upper house,
and being a senator is about as cushy a post as you can get, it's for
life, and there is almost no way to get rid of a bad one.

3) Riding reform, lets spread the seats out a little eh? Time Toronto
had leetle less say in who runs the government.

That's all for now, I may add to this later....
